Abstract: I discuss the modeling of power market games using this powerful and flexible approach. Such models can represent large systems, including thousands of generators and transmission lines, while accounting for peculiarities of particular market designs. I review models of perfect competition and Cournot competition, and their use in evaluations of market designs, merger proposals, and transmission reinforcements. Multilevel games, represented as MPECs and EPECs, are also discussed.
