Abstract: P2P technologies -- Napster, Kazaa, and Bit Torrent in file sharing and grid computing in shared services computing -- offer network infrastructure that is widely used for large scale, high bandwidth information exchange or for high end computation. In this tutorial, we will discuss interesting research issues - predictive modeling and incentive engineering - that arise in the context of these peer to peer networks.
